Private messaging, without lock-in

Prav is a messaging service built around privacy, freedom, and interoperability.

Prav users can message, call, share files, and talk with people on other compatible XMPP services. You get the convenience of phone-number onboarding without being trapped inside one company's app.

A Messaging App

Prav supports messages, file sharing, voice messages, and audio/video calls.

No Ads. No AI.

No surveillance business model, no ad targeting, and no AI training on your conversations.

Easy Onboarding

Sign up with your phone number and an SMS OTP, inspired by Quicksy's convenient onboarding.

No Vendor Lock-in

Prav uses XMPP, so you can talk to users on other compatible services and move providers without losing your network.

Social Contract

What we promise users

Prav exists to put user rights, privacy, and software freedom ahead of profit.

  1. We will put the rights of users above profit.
  2. Our products will always be committed to user privacy.
  3. Our apps and services will always respect users' freedom as Free Software.
  4. Our service will be interoperable using a free standard and federated with XMPP services.
  5. We will donate, whenever possible, to the projects we rely on.

Software Freedom

Prav is Free Software. Users have the freedom to run, study, modify, share, and share modified versions of the software. We also follow a Code of Conduct for community spaces.
